John R. Padova (born 1935) is a senior United States district judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He was nominated by President George H. W. Bush in November 1991 to a newly authorized seat and was confirmed by the Senate in March 1992. Padova served more than 15 years as an active judge before assuming senior status in February 2008, during which time he authored 93 published opinions and presided over thousands of civil and criminal cases. Prior to his judicial appointment, he maintained a private law practice in Philadelphia for over three decades, earning a strong reputation as a trial attorney in both state and federal courts. He received his J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1959 and also served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the New Jersey Army National Guard.
